Home University
Welcome to the Home University
section of the Jamboree.
The latest addition is Ancient Rome.
We have been revolving the idea of an on-line Home University for several months now. Bethan, Samuel and I have all been studying at home for quite a few years, and we thought we might be able to help people just beginning the process, by passing on some of the ideas and methods which we have developed over time. We also hoped it could be a place where other people could post their experiences and advice too.
I would like to say first of all, that Home University is something anyone can do. If you are interested in studying the subjects below then you are old enough to begin, and it is never too late to start. It is really about learning for learning's sake. Not so that we can pass an exam, but so that we can be wiser and more skilled.
When time is used efficiently it is astonishing what can be done in a day, there is no reason why all the subjects below can't be studied, and many more I'm sure.
This section has just begun and I am very open to suggestions and feedback. I had an idea that every subject could include comments from readers, because my brother and sister and I have by no means studied everything, and for all those subjects that we have not studied, as well as those we have, it would be nice to have others post their experiences, advice and comments.
If
you are new to the idea of Home University you can read the articles You
Don't Have to Go to University"
and "No
Regrets".
All feedback is welcome: wendy@freedom-in-education.co.uk
